SigmaLearn ("we", "our", or "the app") is a math tutoring application for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

a) Math Problems You Submit

When you enter a math problem or question, that text is sent to our server and then to Google's Gemini API to generate a solution. Google's processing is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

To improve performance and reduce load times for all users, successfully solved problems may be stored in our database so that identical problems can be answered instantly in the future without calling the AI again. This stored content is:

• The math problem text and its solution only — no personal information
• Not linked to any user identity, device, or account
• Not shared with or sold to any third party
• Used solely to serve faster responses to future users

b) Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• History – a log of your past math problems and solutions
• Bookmarks – problems you've saved for later reference

This data remains entirely under your control. Uninstalling the app deletes it permanently.

c) Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous usage data such as:

• Which features are used and how often
• App crashes and performance metrics
• General device information (OS version, device model, country)

This data is aggregated and anonymous — we cannot identify individual users from it. It is used solely to improve the app. Firebase Analytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require account creation or login
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising
• We do not display ads
• We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or location

3. Third-Party Services

SigmaLearn integrates the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini API – processes math problems to generate solutions. Google Privacy Policy
• Firebase Analytics – anonymous usage analytics. Google Privacy Policy

4. Children's Privacy

SigmaLearn is intended for general audiences including students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the app, please contact us and we will work to address it.

5. Data Retention

Local data (history, bookmarks) is retained on your device until you clear it within the app or uninstall the app. Analytics data is retained by Google per their standard retention policies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Clear your history and bookmarks at any time within the app
• Opt out of Firebase Analytics by going to your device's Google account settings
• Uninstall the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data

7. Security

All communication between the app and Google's APIs is encrypted via HTTPS. Local data is stored in your device's private app storage, inaccessible to other apps.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
